Article: Long Siesta
Long Siesta
“If your regrets linger, if you cannot find inspiration in solitude, then you still have much to learn from the writers and poets and the cooks on becoming the artist of your own life… you can never re-create the past. But you can shape your own future. And you can make a cake.” Jacqueline Duval
One day in 2010 I stumbled onto the life I had always wanted to live.
A chance holiday in Rio de Janeiro.
A last minute diversion and a leap of faith of the heart.
Many long haul flights between the northern & southern hemispheres building a home.
Then the most wonderful gift of a beautiful baby girl.
Now, a break from the rat race of corporate life.
And the opportunity to learn how to stand still.
A moment in time to dance to the beat of my own drum.
And another chance to fall stupidly in love with my life under the Mediterranean sun.
This blog has a simple intention: to bring you along with the Petit Barcelona family as we meet the makers, creators, the small business owners, the crafters and locals from this part of the world. To come along on this long siesta of mine.
To live the movement they call here, the Mediterraneamente.
Enjoy.
